The events of 1905–1907, commonly known as the Revolution of 1905, provided a significant impulse for the transformation of political and social life in the Polish lands under Russian partition, as well as in Russia itself. In this collection, we present materials from our archives related to these turbulent events, such as Władysław Reymont’s brochure Rewolucja 1905. Notatki (The 1905 Revolution. Notes). It was published by the Literary Publishing House of the Soldier Care Department of the 1st Corps—a publishing house operating between 1945 and 1948 in Scotland, where Polish soldiers were stationed. This brochure is a collection of press reports written by Reymont during the events on the streets of Warsaw. It is a source that not only brings us closer to the events of 1905, but also serves as an example of publishing policy and the shaping of attitudes and identities among soldiers facing the dilemma of whether to remain in exile or return to a country completely different from the one before 1939.
